Lucas Greazel, a junior at the University of Mississippi, has been named a 2024-2025 Mississippi Automotive Manufacturers Association Scholarship recipient.

Greazel, who is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering with an emphasis in manufacturing, was one of 14 students recognized from a competitive pool of applicants across the state. The scholarship supports students with a passion for advancing the automotive industry in Mississippi.

Greazel’s academic and professional accomplishments have distinguished him as a standout in the field. A Provost Scholar and member of the Chancellor’s Honor Roll, he has also been awarded the prestigious Haley Barbour Toyota CME Scholarship. His hands-on experience includes internships as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Toyota Mississippi and an AutoCAD Technician at CS2 Design Group, along with other positions that have showcased his dedication to the industry.

Greazel’s former supervisor at Toyota Mississippi praised his contributions during his internship, stating,

“Lucas was a pleasure to work with and did an excellent job collaborating across many different groups within the plant. His good attitude and analytical mindset will help him grow into a well-rounded engineer who can solve any problem he faces.”

The scholarship program underscores MAMA’s commitment to supporting the next generation of automotive professionals, crucial for maintaining a robust workforce in Mississippi’s growing manufacturing sector.
MAMA’s scholarship, which has awarded $437,500 to 243 students since 2006.
Skip Scaggs, MAMA’s President, emphasized the importance of higher education and praised the recipients for their dedication to advancing the field.
