Local innovators and small business owners will gather on Oct. 22 for a unique event designed to help shape the future of Lafayette County’s business community.
The Yoknapatawpha Arts Council and Oxford-Lafayette County Economic Development Foundation are hosting the Oxford Night of Genius, an engaging brainstorming session aimed at giving small business owners the feedback and support they need to take their ideas to the next level.
Held at the Powerhouse from 6 to 8 p.m., Night of Genius invites participants to present their business ideas or challenges in a casual, collaborative atmosphere.
Each presenter will have 5 to 7 minutes to share their vision or current obstacles and will receive constructive feedback from a panel of experts in the Big Bad Business Series, as well as the supportive audience.
The goal of the event is to provide entrepreneurs with insights and practical advice from experienced professionals, helping them refine their ideas and make meaningful connections.
This year, Origin Bank is sponsoring the Small Business Action Incentives for those sharing their business idea. Based on feedback from the audience presenters will have the chance to have services to help their business grow from Origin Bank. Need professional marketing or website advice Origin Banks Small Business Action Incentives will pay for you to meet with a local marketing firm. These Action Incentives are designed to help small businesses cover the cost of taking the next step to help their business grow.
Unlike typical business workshops, Night of Genius is relaxed and informal—no PowerPoint slides or formal presentations are required. Participants can come as they are, share their ideas, and walk away with fresh perspectives, new connections, and possibly some surprises the BBB team has in store.
The event is free and open to the public, making it the perfect opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs, business enthusiasts, and anyone who supports local innovation to network and get inspired. There will be time for mingling after the presentations, along with catered refreshments.
Spaces are limited, so early registration is encouraged. Whether you’re a business owner with a challenge or someone passionate about fostering the growth of local enterprises, Night of Genius is a must-attend event.
