Hurricane Helene is forecast to become a major hurricane before landfall in Florida’s Panhandle/Big Bend area. The storm is expected to head north, northwest once hitting the Panhandle, going up through the west side of Georgia/east part of Alabama and north toward Tennessee. A large system, the wind and rain are expected to affect north Mississippi; however the system should be downgraded to a Tropical Depression by then.

On Friday, showers are expected to continue throughout the day with winds picking up to around 10-15 mph.
There is a slight chance of some showers on Saturday as rain bands associated with Helene make their way west.
