Crowds lined sidewalks around the square to watch the #Oxfourth Children’s Parade, honoring veterans. Children pedaled bikes, families walked waving flags and parents pulled decked out wagons with toddlers. Veterans waved as they were cheered by crowds.

The parade was sponsored by the Yoknaptawpha Arts Council and honored  veterans organizations, The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and The Marine Corp League. The parade also featured the Boy Scouts of America flag unit, Oxford Police Department’ s mounted patrol, an Oxford fire truck and a Baptist Hospital Ambulance.

Fourth of July festivities continue tonight with fireworks at Oxford High School.
