It’s just a small brick building set back from the street. I’m sure many out-of-towners have strolled by not knowing all the history up that little walk.
Frequent climbers of the steps up to the porch include Justice L.Q.C. Lamar, Sen. W.V. Sullivan, Ole Miss chancellors, a long list of noted judges and attorneys, and Nobel Laureate William Faulkner, to name a few.
Today, Visit Oxford has found a home there at 1013 E Jackson. Running there beside the property is Boles Wiley Alley.
More rich history has also happened there, but that’s a column for next time.
