Supervisors approve site plans for business, subdivisions

The Lafayette County Board of Supervisors approved several site plans – preliminary and final – during their regular meeting Monday, including a new restaurant in the county.
The County Line Grill will be located on Highway 310 near the Panola County line. The owners, Rickey and Penny Roberts, were granted approval on their final site plan by the supervisors.
Old Oaks of Oxford, on County Road 217 (Campground Road) received approval for its Phase 10 final commercial subdivision plat. The final phase consists of 19 lots.
“They have been very exemplary on how they’ve handled their business out there, and it’s going well for them,” said Joel Hollowell, director of development services.
The Merion subdivision received approval for its Phase 2 preliminary subdivision plat that will.
In 2021, the Merion subdivision received a conditional use permit for a 146-lot subdivision. They received final approval for 49 lots in Phase 1 in July 2023.
“Sales are going well for them,” Hollowell said. “As of May 17, they sold 21 houses, with many more going up and well under construction. Phase 2 is for an additional 57 lots.”
The Board also approved the preliminary and final site plan for the future Pine Crest Cove subdivision off CR 217. The developer plans to build 15 one-bedroom homes and 15 two-bedroom homes.
