A Water Valley man was arrested recently for an aggravated assault that occurred at Abbeville Market.

According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, on Wednesday deputies received a report of an aggravated assault at Abbeville Market.

Investigators were called to investigate the incident. Investigators conducted interviews with the victim and witness, and were able to establish probable cause for an arrest warrant for the suspect, identified as Joshua Norwood, 28, of Water Valley.

After the arrest warrant was issued, Norwood was apprehended at a residence in Harmontown. He was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and issued a $25,000 bond.
