As of Thursday morning, it’s looking like Mother Nature may be kind to this year’s Double Decker Arts Festival, which will be held Friday evening and all day Saturday and Saturday night.
While there is a 30 percent chance of some rain showers today through this evening, the National Weather Service is not showing rain for Friday or Saturday thus far, which is a change from earlier predictions.
Friday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 82 degrees and winds of 5 to 15 mph. Friday night will be mostly cloudy with a low around 65 and winds will pick up to 10 to 15 mph.
Saturday is expected, as of Thursday, to be mostly cloudy in the morning but then gradually clearing to make way for mostly sunny skies in the afternoon. However, it is expected to get windy with sustained winds around 15 to 20 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph.
Saturday night should be mostly clear with a low of 64. It will continue to be breezing throughout the night; however, the NWS is not showing any chance of rain.
The Oxford Eagle will provide an updated weather forecast on Friday as north Mississippi’s weather can change daily.
