Mr. Steiner was born on October 21, 1945, in Pittsburgh, PA where he grew up with his 4 siblings in a loving home. Upon high school graduation, Fred attended Clemson University on a basketball scholarship and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Business. Following college, Fred spent a short time in the oil industry before attending Naval Officer’s Candidate Training School which prepared him for his Naval service upon the USS Independence. The Navy expanded Fred’s life with worldwide travel and created lifelong lasting friendships. Fred then entered sales in the plastics industry where he spent his entire working career. Fred was known to have the kindest of hearts and demonstrated the meaning of selflessness every day. If you knew Fred, you knew that he never met a stranger. He had a personality that was bigger than life itself, and he touched the life of every person he met. He was an active tennis player in his early years and then an avid golfer.
Mr. Steiner lived life to the fullest, creating amazing memories for his family and friends. Although faced with health issues from the age of forty, his spirit never waivered and he remained positive with an inextinguishable enthusiasm for life. He built a beautiful life with his wife and sons, and found immense pride and joy in watching his sons become wonderful men, marry wonderful women, and bless him with the greatest joy he could imagine, his four grandchildren.
Fred, lovingly known by his family as “Our Pappy,” will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The largest heart on earth is now at rest.
Mr. Steiner is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Cindy Steiner of Oxford; his two sons and their wives, Chris and Hattie Steiner of Oxford, Geoff and Stacy Steiner of Castle Rock, CO, and; three granddaughters, Eden Steiner of Castle Rock, and Isla Steiner and Isabelle Steiner, both of Oxford; one grandson, Wyatt Steiner of Castle Rock; siblings, Theodore Henry and his wife Susan of Cheswick Pa, Barbara Steiner Kuntz and husband Dennis of Waukesha, WI; and Daniel Steiner and wife Teri of Marietta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
