Chargers baseball defeats St. Joseph Catholic 8-0

The Oxford Chargers defeated St. Joseph Catholic 8-0 on Wednesday night.
Oxford’s offense got off to a hot start in the game by plating a run in each of the first four innings. The first run came off a solo home run by Brady Stinnett.
The Chargers had Barrett Kamman on the mound that held St. Joseph scoreless. Kamman pitched all five innings and allowed no runs on five hits with two walks and a strikeout.
In the fifth, Oxford scored four runs to open the game up.
The Chargers had extra base hits from Stinnett, Carson Schmelzer, James Blackwood and Thomas Rayburn.
Oxford got RBIs from Sam Roy, Stinnett, Ford Wade and Blackwood.
Oxford returns to the diamond on Thursday as they take on Sumarll at 10:30 a.m. and Arlington at 1:30 p.m.
