All Lafayette County Democrats are invited to the County Convention on Saturday, March 23, at 10 a.m. at the Lafayette Chancery Courthouse at 300 N. Lamar Blvd. 

Every presidential election year, the Mississippi Democratic Party conducts its delegate selection process where they elect members to county executive committees, to the state executive committee, to serve as delegates to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this August, and to discuss platform issues. 

Local Democratic party leaders have stressed that their party is “only as strong as its base, and if citizens want to see more Democrats in Lafayette County, in Mississippi, and at the national level, then they should take an active role.”

The 1st Congressional District Convention will be April 6 in Oxford. More information to come.
