Regents lacrosse team continues unbeaten streak

Regents lacrosse continued its unbeaten streak to the start of the 2024 season with a resounding 12-2 win over St. Benedict at Auburndale in Cordova, Tennessee on Thursday night.
Ben Fuller put Regents (4-0) up 2-0 with a pair of early goals in the first quarter before St. Benedict responded with a pair of their own to knot the score at 2 in the second quarter.
Jude Wood then scored a goal that gave Regents the lead they wouldn’t relinquish. Later Regents scored four goals in a three minute spurt that gave the Lions a 7-2 lead at the half.
Will Coker scored two goals, Wood scored one and Wright Thompson added another as time expired in the third quarter to put Regents up 11-2 going into the final 12 minute period.
Wood scored his fourth goal in the fourth quarter for the final one of the match.
Overall, Coker also scored four goals and Fuller added three.
Regents takes off for spring break before facing St. Benedict in a rematch at home on Saturday, March 23.
