Three Oxford men are now in jail in connection to a shooting that took place on Christmas night at the Lafayette Place apartment complex.
Around 6:25 p.m. on Wednesday, officers with the Oxford Police Department were dispatched to the area of 1711 Anderson Road for a report of shots fired.
When the officers arrived to the scene they found a male victim, who stated his car had been shot multiple times. The victim was also able to give a description of the vehicle, which the officers located later that night.
On Thursday, investigators and agents with the Lafayette County Metro Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the Links Apartment complex. Firearms and ammunition were found inside the apartment, which matched the ammunition used at the scene when tested by the Mississippi State Crime Lab.
Three individuals who were inside the residence at the time of the search were arrested and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center. Jarius Stokes, 19, Ja’Riant Stokes, 21, and Martikus Lewis, 21, were all charged with Drive-By Shooting and each given a bond of $100,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
