Obituary – Albert Metts

Albert Metts, 90, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019, at Senatobia Health and Rehab.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the Senatobia Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ray-Nowell Funeral Home.

Mr. Metts was born on April 30, 1929, in Lafayette County, Miss., to the late Loda Morris Metts and H.W. Metts.  Mr. Metts grew up in Lafayette County and spent his life as a contractor building houses in Shelby County, Tenn. He was of the Baptist faith and proudly served his country in the Korean conflict as a member of the United States Air Force.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving family which includes two daughters, Rosemary Kirkpatrick, of Little Rock,  Ark., and Cindy Key, of Horn Lake, Miss.; three sons, Danny Metts, of Lafayette Springs, Miss., Mark Metts, of Byhalia, Miss., and Andy Metts, of Olive Branch, Miss.; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Virginia Dorrah Waldrip Metts; his sister, Corrine Robbins; five brothers, Charlie, Irvin, J.W., Malvin, and Woody Metts; and his parents.
