The school year begins in less than three weeks, and parents running around town in search of school supplies have a little help to make it easier.
TeacherLists, website that accumulates all available school supply lists from schools in participating states, published several school supply lists for the upcoming school year.
Oxford School District has all of its school supply lists on the website: Oxford High School, Oxford Middle School, Oxford Intermediate School, Oxford Elementary School, Bramlett Elementary School, Della Davidson Elementary and Oxford Alternative Learning Center.
Regents School of Oxford is also on the website.
“For decades, the supply list process has been a frustration for parents,” John Driscoll, president of TeacherLists, said in a statement. “Where to find the lists? When are they available? Forgetting the list on the counter at home. Hunting the aisles for the specific items their teacher has requested. All of those issues are solved with TeacherLists.”
Lafayette County School District is also participating on TeacherLists, with Lafayette High School, Lafayette Middle School and Lafayette Upper Elementary.
Twelve Oaks Montessori Preschool and Happy House Inc. have supply lists posted on the website as well.
It was announced earlier this week that for the first time, school supplies will be eligible during Mississippi’s tax-free weekend. The annual sales tax holiday will take place on July 26 and 27. The Mississippi Department of Revenue website has a list of items that are eligible. The first day of school in the Oxford and Lafayette County School Districts is Aug. 7.
