A giant 30’x60’ American flag was hoisted up a 100’ flagpole at Roundabout Oxford RV & Water Resort, on Saturday, to the sound of the bugle call To the Colors, played by local Marine veteran, Sam Phillips. The ceremony was attended by staff and owners of Roundabout Oxford, local elected officials, and, importantly, members of the local American Legion Post 55 and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3978. The ceremony was overseen by Dennis Bullard, a retired veteran with 38 years of service and the current Commander of American Legion Post 55.
This ceremony, with the flag billowing in the wind, represented a key milestone in preparation for Roundabout Oxford’s official grand opening, as the resort officially opened reservations last Tuesday. The resort’s first official weekend is planned for the Double Decker Arts Festival, with stays starting on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Situated on 84 acres three miles west of Oxford at 750 US 278 West (Highway 6), the $25 Million project will be a premium RV and water resort designed to offer premium accommodations and amenities for guests. The resort features 150 spacious RV sites and 20 luxury cottages, all available for nightly rentals up to a maximum stay of 14 nights.
While it is designed as a destination resort, it is geared toward locals. When availability permits, people without RVs will be able to purchase Park & Play passes to rent an open RV site to park their car and enjoy full access to all amenities for the day, including the pools, restaurant, ice cream trailer and deck bars.
The family resort offers a lazy river, family pool and spa, adult pool and spa, kiddie splash pool and two giant waterslides. Other outdoor amenities include an 18-hole miniature golf course, gaga ball pit, corn hole, tetherball, ping pong, pickleball, basketball and volleyball. Guests can also enjoy physical exercise at the fitness center, by taking a walk on their nature trails or relaxing at the yoga pavilion. The resort has a Grand Lodge which has a community room and kitchen, camp store, sports bar, restaurant, arcade and birthday party room. For the furry family friends, there are separate dog parks for large and small dogs and a free dog washing station.
“We have been lucky enough to travel the country in our RVs for years,” said co-owner Jay Hughes, “and this is our goal to bring the best of the best to our friends and families right here in North Mississippi.”
RV sites will start at $69.00 a night, while the luxury cottages will start at $225.00 per night and sleep up to six people. Roundabout Oxford RV & Water Resort will begin welcoming avid RVers and guests on Thursday, April 24, 2025, and reservations can be made at RoundaboutOxford.com/book.
