Local attorney Ben Griffith will present a program to the Lafayette County Historical and Genealogical Society on the rich, complex history of the Rule of Law on Sunday.

The discussion will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday on the second floor of the Lafayette-Oxford Public Library.

His remarks will reach back to Aristotle in the 4 th Century B.C., then come forward to the Magna Carta in 1215, and on to the U.S. Constitution and similar founding documents throughout the world that form the bedrock of many democratic societies today – all of them grounded on the idea that no one is above the law, everyone is treated equally under the law, and fundamental human rights are guaranteed for all.
