Cofield’s Corner

The year was 1946. The war was won, the boys were home, William Faulkner was known worldwide, and the town was a couple of hundred shy of 4,000 folks. 

At the time, The Oxford Eagle was owned and operated by the Mullin family. The family’s lead reporter and photographer Phil Mullin was peering out the aircraft door for this classic shot taken before the wings were added to the courthouse.
