An Ole Miss student allegedly committed suicide Thursday night by jumping off the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, according to reports.

The University Police Department responded to a report involving a student near Manning Way. The Lafayette County Coroner’s Office confirmed the student had died, according to a statement from University of Mississippi Communications.

The student was a 20-year-old male, according to the Coroner’s Office.

“We are heartbroken at the sudden loss of this student, and we extend our condolences to their loved ones during this difficult time,” said Jacob Batte, director of News and Media Relations.
