Commodores fall to New Hope 42-7

The Lafayette Commodores had a tough night on the road, falling to New Hope 42-7 on Friday.
Lafayette moved to 0-9 and 0-4 in region.
New Hope came out strong, scoring on their first drive to go up 6-0, though a fumbled extra-point attempt kept them from adding on.
They extended their lead when Jacob Jefferson broke free for a 13-yard touchdown, bringing it to 13-0.
Lafayette moved the ball to New Hope’s 25-yard line before turning the ball over.
At the end of the first quarter, New Hope led the Commodores 13-0.
The Commodores’ struggles continued as New Hope added three more touchdowns by halftime, going up 27-0.
They scored again on a 35-yard run, opting for a two-point conversion to make it 35-0. After another drive stalled in New Hope territory, Lafayette watched as New Hope punched in a quick score to close the third quarter at 42-0.
Lafayette found the end zone on a 42-yard run by Darius Brown in the fourth quarter to make it 42-7 New Hope.
The Commodores look to bounce back on Thursday as they head to Corinth for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
