You might want to dig out a sweater or two this week from your closet, but don’t put those short-sleeve shirts away just yet.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will be cool most of the week and slowly warm up over the weekend.
Today’s high is expected to be 68 degrees under sunny skies, with a low of a chilly 45 degrees tonight.
The high on Tuesday is 67 degrees under sunny skies, with a low of 39 degrees.
Wednesday will be the chilliest day this week, with a high of 61 degrees and a low dipping down to 37 degrees Wednesday night. The NWS has said it is possible that we could see some frost on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
Friday’s high is 69 degrees, with a low of 45 degrees.
The weekend will start to warm up slightly, with a high of 73 degrees on Saturday under sunny skies, and a low of 48 degrees Saturday night. Sunday is expected to have a high near 74.
There is no rain in the forecast through Sunday.
With no rain, lots of sun, and less humidity, the chance for brush, grass, and forest fires increases greatly. Any outdoor burning should be closely monitored.
There is not currently an active burn ban in Lafayette County, however, that could change if dry and cooler conditions persist.
