Two men arrested for multiple vehicle thefts

Two Oxford men face multiple charges of vehicle theft.
According to the Oxford Police Department, on Sept. 24, officers responded to the 2000 block of Heritage Drive for a report of a motor vehicle theft.
Through an investigation, Caleb Carrothers, 22, and Demarcus Govan, 20, were linked to another vehicle theft. They were found to be involved in other thefts of a vehicle and the removal of personal items from multiple vehicles.
On Sept. 29, officers responded to additional calls regarding vehicle thefts—one on the 1400 block of Haden Lane and one on the 100 block of Haden Lane. Both Carrothers and Govan were identified as suspects. According to reports, the investigation uncovered further evidence of additional vehicle thefts and the theft of personal valuables.
Carrothers and Govan were arrested and charged with commercial burglary, two counts of motor vehicle theft and three counts of conspiracy to commit a crime.
They were booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center.
