David Magee, author of “Dear William,” will be at Off Square Books next week to discuss his newest memoir, “A Little Crazy.”
He will be in conversation with his sister and fellow memoirist Ruthie Lindsey at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 18.
“A Little Crazy,” is a call to action to embrace differences and create a life unbound by stigma and stereotypes, leading to redeeming purpose and joy. Adopted into a family that never quite fit, Magee battled loneliness and a lack of self-esteem as a teen. These feelings followed and paralyzed him into adulthood until a trusted voice within revealed an unusual—if not a little bit crazy—path forward.
In sharing his inspiring journey, he teaches readers the importance of trusting your instincts, speaking your truth and understanding the reality that no one can succeed alone.
Along with authoring a best-selling book, “Dear William: A Father’s Memoir of Addiction, Recovery, Love and Loss,” Magee is the creator of The William Magee Institute for Student Wellbeing at the University of Mississippi and a frequent motivational speaker.
Lindsey is the author of the memoir, “There I Am,” a speaker, cohost of the Unspoken podcast, and a social media figure.
