High temps today; Possible rain Wednesday

A Heat Advisory remains in effect for Lafayette County through 9 p.m. tonight, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures are expected to reach 97 degrees; however, the high humidity could cause the heat index value to climb near 108 degrees.
Those working outside are cautioned to wear lightweight and loose=fitting clothing, limit strenuous activities and drink plenty of water.
Wednesday should provide some relief from the heat with rain expected in the afternoon. Thunderstorms and showers could continue into the evening hours.
Thursday has just a 20 percent chance of rain. The high for Thursday is expected to be 88 degrees.
Higher temps return by Friday, with a high of 93 expected under mostly sunny skies.
Saturday and Sunday’s high is forecast to be around 95 degrees but there is currently a 30 percent chance of rain on Sunday.
