A Tupelo man was arrested and charged with sexual battery recently.

The Oxford Police Department arrested Brandon Levon Gates, 26, of Tupelo after receiving a report of a sexual battery that happened on April 15 in Oxford.

Gates was taken before a Municipal Court judge for an initial bond hearing and issued a $50,000 bond. The Tupelo Police Department assisted in this case.
