An Oxford woman is being held on a $100,000 bond after allegedly pulling a gun on someone.

According to the Oxford Police Department, at 3:40 p.m. on Friday, officers responded to a business in the 1900 block of West Jackson Avenue for a report of a domestic violence incident in progress.

Kadejah Martin, 29, of Oxford, and another person were in a parked car in front of the business. The alleged victim said that Martin pulled a gun and threatened to shoot them before they escaped the vehicle and ran inside.

Once inside the business, someone called 911 while the victim hid.

When the officer arrived, he pulled behind the suspect’s vehicle as she exited from the passenger side.

She was ordered to put her hands on the car so she could be patted down for weapons. Before the pat down could be completed, Martin pulled away.

Unsure if she still had the firearm the officer tried to restrain Martin. Martin continued to fight, and the officer had to take her to the ground.

A second law enforcement officer assisted in controlling Martin and she was placed into custody.

A firearm was located inside of the vehicle. Martin was also allegedly under the influence of alcohol.

EMS was called to check on Martin as a precaution. Nobody on the scene sustained any injuries.

Martin was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where she was booked on charges of domestic violence – aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. She was given a $100,000 bond by the Municipal Court Judge.
