Oxford Chargers baseball defeats Collierville 9-2

The Oxford Chargers defeated Collierville 9-2 on Tuesday night.
Oxford (10-5) broke the game open in the sixth inning when they scored five runs. The Chargers had Sam Roy, Brady Stinnett, Thomas Rayburn and Carson Schmelzer brought in a run.
Collierville took an early advantage in the first scoring a run.
Oxford answered in the second on a two-run home run by Jack Harper to left field. The third run came across on a wild pitch.
In the third, Rayburn brought home the fourth run on a double.
Rayburn finished the game going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.
The Chargers left-hander Barrett Kamman picked the win in over three innings of work. Kamman allowed one run on two hits with a walk.
Oxford had Robert Upchurch take the mound in 1.1 innings of scoreless baseball with one hit and two strikeouts.
Oxford returns to the diamond on Saturday as they travel to Southaven. The first pitch is set for 7 p.m.
