Just as spring is about to take the field, “Old Man Winter” takes one last run around the bases.
The first day of spring for 2024 on Tuesday will start off cold – real cold. In fact, cold enough to cause the National Weather Service to issue a Freeze Warning for Lafayette County starting at 11 tonight and running through 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
The low tonight is expected to hit 27 degrees under clear skies.
Tuesday is expected to be sunny with bright blue skies and the high should hit 58 degrees – about 10 degrees warmer than Monday during the day.
The low Tuesday night will remain above freezing and is expected to be around 41 degrees.
Wednesday should be sunny with a high of 69 degrees and a low of 46 degrees.
Rain could return on Thursday with a 20 to 30 percent chance of rain on both Thursday and Friday.
The weekend is expected to be in the high-60s to low-70s with lows in the mid-40s under mostly sunny skies.
