MS Roses Chapter of The Links to host Black Family Wellness Expo

The Mississippi Roses Chapter of The Links Inc. will hold a Black Family Wellness Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 23 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Southaven.
The local event is part of The Links nationwide Black Family Wellness Expos being held across the country during March, which aims to leverage its entire membership to improve outcomes for Black families.
Some of the issues to be addressed are pre-natal and newborn issues; maternal health; cancer awareness; kidney disease; heart health; organ/tissue donor awareness/signup; dental health; mental health awareness and resources; suicide signs and prevention; anti-bullying; aging; dementia; caregiver resources, tax preparation, voter registration and information, and more.
A mobile mammography unit will also be on-site to provide breast cancer screenings.
The chapter has partnered with Baxter, the Mississippi State Extension Service, the Strawberry Plains Audubon Center, the Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts, the National Food Service Management Institute, the University of Mississippi, and the Holly Springs School District, to sponsor cultural and educational activities for north Mississippi youth.
