Oxford Chargers beat South Panola Tigers on the road

The Oxford Chargers defeated the South Panola Tigers 6-5 on the road on Thursday night.
Oxford (7-4) jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after the second inning. The Chargers had two RBI doubles off the bats of James Blackwood and Sharp Smith in the second.
On the mound for Oxford was Brady Stinnett who kept the Tigers off the board through three innings with also not allowing a hit during those innings.
At the plate Stinnett went 3-for-4 with a double.
South Panola (8-2) scratched a run across in the fourth, before a big four run fifth inning that was capped off by a triple by Carlos Robinson that scored two runs. South Panola’s Landon Dickinson and Daniel Moore also drove in runs.
Oxford tied the game in the fifth on a base knock by Thomas Rayburn.
In the seventh, Smith drew a walk that brought in the winning run.
Stinnett worked 4.1 innings allowing five runs on two hits, before turning the ball over to Hayes Huggins for 2 innings. Robert Upchurch picked up the win for Oxford.
Oxford returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Grenada. The first pitch is set for 3 p.m.
