St. Peter’s Episcopal winter soiree features acclaimed soloists

Listeners are in for a treat Friday at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church when two acclaimed soloists perform in Oxford.
James Martin is an internationally renowned baritone soloist and teaching artist. Currently, he heads the voice program at Dickinson
College in Carlisle, Penn. Martin holds a master of music degree from The Julliard School. His awards include the William Schuman Award and the SONY Elevated Standard Award.
Tessica McClendon is an acclaimed coloratura soprano from Jackson, Miss. She has earned a bachelor of arts degree in vocal performance from Tougaloo College, a master of music degree from The Boston Conservatory and most recently the Professional Studies Certificate from Temple University.
McClendon has served as soprano soloist at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Jackson and now as cantor at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in
Elkins Park, Penn.
The church is located at 113 South 9th St. and the event is set for 6 p.m. Friday.
