Mississippi author Ellen Ann Fentress had the crowd in stitches at The Graduate Oxford as she read from her non-fiction book "The Steps We Take: A Memoir of Southern Reckoning." The animated writer read from her latest work that tackles “Christian coercion, entrenched racial hierarchies, and unrelenting female self-sacrifice” in a stylistic manner that turns darkness into humor without sacrificing the takeaway.
