Marilyn McCluskey

Mrs. Marilyn McCluskey, 79, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, at her home in Oxford. The funeral service will be Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Yellow Leaf Baptist Church with Rev. Chris McCluskey, Rev. John Davis and Rev. David Ard officiating. Burial will follow in Yellow Leaf Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Mrs. McCluskey was born to the late E.O. and Dora Drewrey Onsby and was a lifelong resident of Oxford and longtime member of Yellow Leaf Baptist Church. She worked at North MS Regional Center from 1973-1992 before her career led her to Graceland Care Center where she retired as assistant director. Her faith in the Lord was strengthened daily through the time she dedicated to reading the Bible and her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother was guided by her faith. She was a strong woman and was known to put herself in charge of any and everything! Mrs. McCluskey was a gifted quilter and was affectionately known as “Bibbie” or as “Mamaw” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  

Survivors include her husband, Herschel McCluskey of Oxford; a daughter, Pam Murphree and her husband, Ricky of Oxford; three sons, Steve McCluskey and his wife, Sandra, Scott McCluskey and his wife, Kathy and Randy McCluskey and his wife, Connie all of Oxford; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Daniels and her great-grandson, Miles Murphree Barnes.
