Businesses have been experiencing a loss in customers since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, but not ServPro.
ServPro is a cleanup and restoration business in Oxford that has managed to track in business, thanks to its promise to provide high-quality deep cleaning services to its clients.
“We’ve been asked to do quite a bit of cleaning due to COVID,” Steve Jones, the owner of ServPro of Oxford/Batesville/Clarksdale, said. “Mostly proactive but some positive, identified cases where we’ll come in and clean up after a positive (coronavirus) case. That’s kept us relatively busy. We’re very blessed to be in an industry where we’ve been able to survive all of the craziness, and ups and downs.”
According to Jones, ServPro’s business has always been up and down.
“I kind of equate it to the fire department,” Jones said. “We’re always staffed, but we never know when there’s going to be an emergency.”
ServPro specializes in the cleanup and restoration of residential and commercial property after a fire, smoke or water damage. They use specialized equipment to detect, measure, and monitor a property’s moisture levels. ServPro also uses submersible and gas-powered pumps for a continuous pumping of high-level water as well as air scrubbers, thermal foggers, and deodorization agents to remove odors. They also mitigate mold and mildew from homes and businesses.
“Our emergency volume has been down a little bit, I think, with people at home,” Jones said. “There’s just been fewer instances of water losses and fire losses. But that’s kind of picked up lately.”
