Ted Lucas “Luke” Smith, III, 26, died Friday, May 8, 2020, at his home in Oxford. A private graveside service will be held at Eastover Memorial Cemetery with Father Joe Tonos and Zack Smith officiating. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Born in Oxford, Luke worked as a chef at various restaurants in Oxford. He was a talented guitarist and enjoyed leading worship. Luke was most content outdoors and enjoyed fishing. He loved his pets and family. Luke had a huge, loving heart and knew how to make others laugh. 

Survivors include his parents, Jennifer Gordon Smith and Ted Lucas Smith, II, of Oxford; a sister, Emilee Taylor, of Oxford; three brothers, Zackary Gordon Smith, William Alexander Smith, and Andrew Hartley Smith all of Oxford; and his grandparents, Ruth Ann Gordon of Oxford, MS and Mary Nell and Ted Lucas Smith, Sr. of Batesville, Miss.
