Woman arrested for 3 counts residential burglary
The Oxford Police Department received three separate reports of a residential burglary on Dec. 18, resulting in the arrest of a Meridian woman.
Through an investigation, a person of interest was identified. That evening, Anna Claire Williams, 23, turned herself into the Oxford Police Department. She cooperated with investigators to retrieve the stolen items.
Williams was placed under arrest and booked into to the Lafayette County Detention Center. On Thursday, December 19, 2019, Williams was taken before Lafayette County Justice Court Judge and received a bond of $20,000.00.
2 arrested for armed robbery
Officers with the Oxford Police Department were dispatched on Dec. 15 to Oxford Square Townhomes, located on Jackson Avenue, after two people reported they were robbed at gunpoint.
Officers with the University Police Department and OPD were able to locate Brandeis Pettis, 18 of Oxford, and Kylon Gillom, 18 of Abbeville, leaving the area. Both men were detained and investigators were called to the scene to investigate. Pettis and Gillom were subsequently arrested for armed robbery and taken before a Justice Court Judge, where they were each given a bond of $15,000.
