Obituary – Maxine Bishop Darling

Maxine Bishop Darling, 95, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 5, 2019, at her home in Sardis, Mississippi.
Funeral services for Maxine was held at 2 p.m. on Friday June 7, 2019, in the Martin Willingham Memorial Chapel of Wells Funeral Home in Batesville with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. prior to the service. Interment followed at Thytira Cemetery near Senatobia, MS.
Maxine was born March 29, 1924, to the late Herman Franklin Bishop and Maude Mula Humphries Bishop in Memphis, TN. During Maxine’s lifetime she was homemaker and a faithful member of the Como Baptist Church. In her downtime she enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and loved to tell stories.
Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory include her three daughters, Brenda Booth of Sardis, Mississippi, Sherry Darling of Blue Ridge, Georgia, and Carolyn Darling of Iowa; her son, Jay Pounders of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Clara Burford of Barr, Mississippi; 17 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 46 great-great grandchildren.
