Virginia Louise Wood Herget, 93, of Paragould, Arkansas, died on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at her residence. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and served as president and coordinator of the Critical Care Unit of the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center Auxiliary, Board of Directors of The Paragould Country Club, and was a member of the Ladies Golf Association.

She was a former Homecoming Queen, “Most Beautiful”, and fabulous dancer.  She loved playing golf, bridge, her church circle, and especially her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 70 years, Alfred Herget; daughters, Janet (Ben) Hyneman of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Susan (George) Smith of Oxford, Mississippi, and Sarah Franke of Bentonville, Arkansas; sisters Mary Brinton of Jacksonville, Florida, and Martha Morgan of Paragould; grandchildren, Brian (Ginger) Hyneman, Matt (Mary) Hyneman, Lindsey (Landon) Myers, Ginny (Tim) Kelly, Ryan Smith, Jackson Franke, Kathryn Franke, and several great grandchildren.
