James “Bubba” Martin Huggins

Mr. James “Bubba” Martin Huggins, 82, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Oxford-University United Methodist Church in Oxford, with Rev. Eddie Rester officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. The visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018 from 4 until 7 p.m at Waller Funeral Home and the day of service in the atrium of the church from 2 p.m. until service time.
Born in Oxford to the late Clyde James and Mable Lucille Kinney Huggins, Mr. Huggins was a member of Oxford-University United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He served in the United States Air Force in the 1608th Air Terminal Squadron. After many years of working for Pettis Cigar and Oxford Vending, Mr. Huggins later retired after owning his own vending company. Even though he enjoyed woodworking, his favorite hobby was being a father and grandfather.
Mr. Huggins is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Ann Houston Huggins of Oxford; two daughters, Debra Huggins Lagrone and her husband, Ricky, of Brookhaven, Miss. and Camilla Huggins Griffin of Oxford; two grandsons, Chad Lagrone and his wife, Katie, of Nashville, Tenn. and Grant Griffin of Oxford; three great-grandsons, Hayes, James and Clark Lagrone of Nashville; and a sister-in-law, Carol Huggins of Ft. Ashby, W. Va.

In honor of Mr. Huggins’ service to our country, the flag of the United States Air Force will be flown at Waller Funeral Home.
