The Friday night lights were in favor of Water Valley, as the Blue Devils came out victorious once again by defeating the Bruce Trojans.
The Blue Devils (4-0) ran over the Trojans from start to finish.
Before anyone had time to check their watches, halftime arrived with Water Valley holding a 42-0 advantage that would hold on to be the final score.
Although the Blue Devils had nearly fifty yards in penalties, with several touchdowns to be called back, it did not stop Water Valley from gaining positive yardage to win the game.
The wealth of scoring was spread equally, beginning with quarterback Blayne Clark throwing two touchdown passes to Quaterrius Tolbert in the first half of the game.
Senior running back Kenterrious Rucker rushed for over 90 yards with one touchdown on the night.
Keldric McIntosh had an impressive 45-yard reception that led to another touchdown for the Blue Devils.
Water Valley’s offense was not the only part of the team to stand out, as the Blue Devils defense held the Trojans (2-2) to a no score game, and had an interception caught for a touchdown by Tolbert.
“We played physical, we played fast. We executed at a pretty high level, the kids work hard and it’s a long season,” Water Valley head coach Brad Embry said. “I am super proud of the guys, I think we came out like the way we been able to the last few weeks, and we got a great mentality of getting better each and every day.”
Water Valley will play Calhoun City next Friday at home. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
