John Donald “Don” Bethay, 78, died Saturday, May 26, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 30, 2018  at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Don Gann officiating. Burial will follow at Oxford Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, May 29, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home.

Born in Tupelo to the late John Chesley and Vivian Pennington Bethay, Don was the retired plant superintendent for Walker Manufacturing. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where he was a member of the Couples’ Sunday School class. He was a charitable giver and volunteer at The Pantry.     

Survivors include his wife, Alice Langford Bethay of Oxford; sons, Brett Bethay and his wife, Kathleen of Madisonville, La.; Barry Bethay and his wife, Beverly of Smithfield, Ky; and Norman O’Connor and his wife, Jennifer of Oxford; brother, Danny Bethay of Guntown, Miss., and six grandchildren.
