Jared “J.D.” Huffman

Mr. Jared “J.D.” Huffman, 71, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Visitation will be Friday, March 16, 2018, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. A memorial service will immediately follow at 12:30 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home. Bro. Terry Easley will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Huffman was born in Canton, Ill. He was a hunting and fishing fanatic. Mr. Huffman worked his whole life as a dental technician and owned his own dental lab since he was 20 years old. He was certified in every aspect of his field.
Mr. Huffman also served in the United States Navy.
Mr. Huffman is survived by his wife, Phyllis Huffman of Waterford, Miss.; his son, Tim (Renea) Huffman of Waterford; three daughters, LeAnne (Dennis) Moore of Olive Branch, Miss., Julie McAlpin of Arlington, Tenn., and Meredith (Tim) Austin of Bartlett, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Sara Beth Huffman of Waterford, and Mallory Austin of Bartlett; five grandsons, Scott (Ashley) Moore and Cody Moore, both of Olive Branch, Dalton Cooper of Riverview, Fla., and Tanner Austin and Zac Austin, both of Bartlett; two great-granddaughters, Kinley Moore of Olive Branch, and Ensley Cooper of Riverview; two great-grandsons, Peyton Moore of Olive Branch, and Colton Cooper of Riverview; two sisters, Mary (Roger) Malson of Groveland, Ill., and Martha (Mark) Slater of Clayton, Ill; and his beloved dog, Belle.
Mr. Huffman was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Eugene Huffman and Barbara Jean Huffman.
In honor of Mr. Huffman’s service to our country, the flag of the United States Navy will be flown at Coleman Funeral Home.
