Mr. Travis D. Edwards, 72, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford, Miss. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Coleman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2017, at 11 a.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Lannis May will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Edwards was born in Calhoun County, Miss., but resided in Lafayette County his whole life. He was a loyal employee for Mr. Ray Parker at Ray’s Truck Stop for many years. Mr. Edwards final years of employment was as an over the road driver for several logging companies. He was a man with an incredible work ethic. Nothing meant more to him than his family at the end of the day.
Mr. Edwards is survived by two daughters, Darlene (Terry) Morgan of Hernando, Miss., and Rena Daniels of Banner, Miss.; one son, Dean Edwards of Oxford; his father, J.B. Edwards of Oxford; three grandsons, Wesley (MaRanda) Anderson, Taylor Anderson, and Trent (T.J.) Edwards, all of Oxford; one granddaughter, Rebekha Daniels of Banner, Miss.; three sisters, Paulette (James) Barbee and Dorris (Jerry) Logan, both of Banner, and Joann (Billy) Barfield of Vardaman, Miss.; and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Edwards is preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Edwards; and one brother, Johnny Edwards.
