Oxford is known as a destination community. Between University of Mississippi events, its quaint Square, William Faulkner’s home and more, Oxford listings on rental sites including Airbnb and VRBO thrive.
Since 2017 has come to an end, we wanted to find out just how popular Oxford is on Airbnb. So, we reached out to an Airbnb spokesperson to find out how many bookings and how much revenue occurred here this year.
We got a quick reply: 8,400 guest arrivals to the 38655 zip code in 2017 and $1.4 million in guest earnings for the year, according to Airbnb spokesperson Kaelen Richards.
That’s quite a haul for Oxford property owners, considering the popular Airbnb is just one source that is used for booking properties.
Among the listings one can book on Airbnb in Oxford include a “modern house walk to the square” that sleeps 10 and a “private room in an apartment” that is “perfect for Ole Miss games” for $125 a night.
