Marshall O. French

Marshall O. French, age 83, passed away Monday, Dec. 11, 2017 at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford, Miss. where his smile brightened the days of many. He was born Dec. 22, 1933 to the late Irene Reese French and Marshall O. French, Sr. in Oklahoma City, Okla. and served in the United States Marines. Marshall earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Boise State University and he and his wife, Ouida, co-owned Giraffe Copywriting in Oxford, Miss. Marshall was a gifted writer, a Biblical scholar, and enjoyed working outdoors. He spent several years in a Yupik Eskimo village in Alaska directing computer services for a school district and hunting and fishing with the natives.
Marshall was a Methodist and was a member of The Orchard in Oxford, Miss.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Rev. Pat Ward officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to visitation time. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery at Big Creek in Calhoun County.
Marshall is survived by his wife, Ouida Byars French of Oxford, Miss.
