A Pelahatchie man was arrested on an Oxford warrant in Tupelo Monday for allegedly burglarizing several Oxford storage units.

According to the Oxford Police Department, officers responded to Your Extra Closet for a burglary report on Jan. 21. The storage unit had the lock cut off and items from inside the unit were stolen.

During the investigation, it was determined that nine other units had locks cut. Five of the nine units did not have any items missing. Investigators identified Randy Hudson, 40, of Pelahatchie as the suspected burglary. Investigators say Hudson rented a U-Haul from Grenada using a fraudulent Mississippi driver’s license with a fake name. Hudson went through Oxford and other areas and cut locks off storage units. Hudson allegedly stored some of the stolen items in a storage unit he rented and possibly the U-Haul truck that he used to transport stolen goods.

Hudson was arrested in Tupelo on Monday. He also had a warrant in Tate County for similar charges. Tate County took him into custody and he is on hold at Tate County Jail on six counts of burglary from OPD.
