Fight on the Square leads to arrest of convicted felon

A man was arrested by Oxford police officers Monday night for allegedly having a knife in his possession while being a felon.
According to reports, a fight broke out on the Square and after officers had everything under control, they arrested Anthony Bailey, 26, of Wesson when they discovered he had a knife in his possession with a 4-inch blade. Witnesses said Bailey threatened to stab someone with the knife.
Officers discovered Bailey had a previous felony conviction for aggravated assault and robbery. He was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a bond of $10,000.
