Rubert Dean Bruner

Rubert Dean Bruner, 68, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016 at his home in Oxford.

Born in Bruce, Mr. Bruner had lived in the Oxford area for 39 years after moving from Louisville, MS. He was a retired industrial plant manager. Mr. Bruner enjoyed golf, gardening and reading. Entertaining friends and family was also something he took pleasure in doing. Mr. Bruner was a member of Oxford-University United Methodist Church and was a shuttle driver for the church.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2016, 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Oxford-University United Methodist Church with funeral services following in the church sanctuary. The Rev. Warren Black and the Rev. Eddie Rester will officiate. Interment will be in the Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra H. Bruner of Oxford; two daughters, Jennifer B. (Nathan) John of Taylor, and Heather B. (Tripp) Harrison of Alpharetta, Georgia; one sister, Margie B. (James) Chandler of Bruce; one brother-in-law, Garner (Kathy) Hickman of Oxford; five grandchildren, Garner Harrison, Andrew Harrison, Taylor John, Rowan John and Crawford John.

His parents, Ralph and Clara Mae Bruner, preceded Mr. Bruner in death.
