Lafayette County man chases family with ax; burns truck

A Lafayette County man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly trying to assault his wife and son with an ax and setting his son’s truck on fire.
According to reports, on Monday, deputies responded to Highway 334 around the McManus Apartments, for a report of a domestic altercation. Deputies learned that Brian Kipp Parker, 42, had allegedly grabbed an ax during a fight with his wife and adult son and attempted to hit them with it. Parker left the home.
Deputies started looking for Parking who was found Tuesday after they received a report that Parker had set his son’s pick up on fire. Parker was found at the scene and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he remains this morning awaiting his first appearance bond hearing.
