WEST POINT — Robert Churchill, 76, died Friday, Aug. 19, 2016, at West Point Community Living Center in West Point. A catered visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in West Hall at Waller Funeral Home.
Born in Etta, to the late Burdice Richard and Modell Blackard Churchill, Mr. Churchill was owner of Kiamie’s but formerly worked at K.C. Tavern and Starbrite Cleaners. He was a 1960 graduate of University High School and a graduate of Ole Miss, where he was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He was a member of the Ole Miss Loyalty Foundation and Ole Miss Alumni Association. He coordinated the University High School Grand Reunion. Mr. Churchill was a loving husband, father and grandfather and an avid Ole Miss fan.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, George Churchill, Jimmy Churchill and Dalton Churchill and a sister, Wilma Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Kay Kiamie Churchill of Oxford; two daughters, Karen Copple and her husband, Wes of Oxford, and Chris Adamson of Oxford; two sisters, Dorothy Churchill Holland of Oxford, and Martha Churchill Starnes of Abbeville; a brother, Wayne Churchill of Oxford; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions in Mr. Churchill’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
